GABION APPLICATIONS
Gabions can be used in a wide variety of ways, from earth retention, to building materials and cladding.
Gabion walls are part of the work we offer and are one of the most well known types of retaining walls. They are cages with a mesh exterior filled with stone to add weight for supporting the wall. The stone, like and project will depend on size, ground type and client requirements.
All excavation work and earth moving for the foundations of the baskets to be installed is carried out by us. To blend in with the surrounding areas these baskets can be built to many specifications.
Gabions have long become a method of construction for retaining structures, providing economical and environmentally acceptable solutions.
Gabions offer an attractive, cost-effective and robust solution for many applications - including retaining walls, garden accent-walls, and numerous other landscaping projects. Their natural drainage properties contribute to their durability, whilst their flexibility allows them to adapt to natural variations in ground level. Gabion walls do not usually require foundations, which helps to make them economical.
These structures are designed as Mass Gravity Gabion Retaining Walls, which are flexible structures. The design is based on the mass of the gabions providing stability to counteract the force of the ground’s load.
